Sex And The City 2 Trailer

Attention all my avid readers, I usually do not post too many trailers for upcoming movies but the love of my life has convinced me that this was worth while posting. First let me explain that my wonderful girlfriend Shaunna may just be the biggest Sex And The City fan there is on this planet. I myself had never witnessed the show or the first movie until Shaunna and I started to see each other. I must admit that I did watch the first movie and sometime closer to the release of Sex And The City 2 will likely put up a full review of it. In the meantime I will let people know that I was not one that loved Sex And The City the movie but did enjoy it none the less. Overall the original movie was good in its own little way and was enjoyable enough, and at the same time I am sure was a great movie to any and all of the fans out there who religiously followed the show.

It is time now for the upcoming release of Sex And The City 2 which will hit theaters on May 28th 2010. I know that I will be attending this movie with Shaunna as I know how much it does mean to her. I also want to go out on a limb here and ask you my loyal readers to help me in my 2010 campaign to earn Shaunna a dream come true which would be to see the premiere of the movie. I am hoping that we can rally enough people up to help me convince the people behind Sex And The City 2 to send me two advanced tickets to the movie for Shaunna and I to go to it. Shaunna will be turning 26 on June 1st 2010 so the movie arrives in theaters just in time for her birthday, and what better birthday treat could I give her then to see the one movie she has been raving about since it was announced.

Please enjoy the first trailer from Sex And The City 2 shown below. If you wish to help us out in attempting to get advanced tickets to the movie please e-mail me your comments at mdotmovieman@gmail.com or even post a reply on this page. The more support we gather then the more chance I have of making Shaunna's birthday extra special. Thank you all in advance, and please feel free to get carried away...!!!

Avatar Movie Review

Director: James Cameron

Writer(s): James Cameron

Starring: Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver

It is starting to get very close to the time of year where studios are releasing their more solid motion pictures, the ones that they truly believe could grab the Academies attention and win some of the awards for this year. The speculation each and every year though is which of the movies is going to catch our imaginations enough to become the heavy hitter. This year I believe that even without seeing the other movies that are going to go up for the awards, I do truly believe that Avatar far exceeds anything that is required to be called the best movie of 2009.

James Cameron (The Terminator, Titanic, True Lies) proves to us here exactly why he should be forever praised for his ability to make movies. It is Cameron himself who has delivered such remarkable movies through his entire career. James Cameron this time around gives us his first movie since "Titanic" and the question on everyones mind is was it worth the wait. The answer to this question is yes, it is well worth the wait.

Avatar is hands down not only one of the best movies you will witness in 2009, but going out on a limb here I will state that Avatar is hands down one of the better movies you are going to see period. I know many people will be quick to pick apart the storyline and say that other movies have worked with the idea of spy, betrayal, love, and new hope but even keeping those plot aspects in this movie does not take away from how perfect the movie is.

The movie which stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien Quadrilogy (Alien/ Aliens /Alien 3 /Alien Resurrection), Ghostbusters) is what I believe is the perfect roles for both of these two. Sam Worthington continues to impress me with his acting ability and in my honest opinion far exceeds the abilities of most action film stars.

The storyline to Avatar was more then enough to captivate me having touched on so many human emotions that one is left in total awe of this movie. The acting was spot on for this movie, and I can not forget to mention the visual aspect. Avatar is one of the most amazing visual movies your eyes will ever be treated to. I can not stress how much I believe that everyone should go and see this movie in the theater to witness it in 3D. The 3D does not take away from the movie, and quite frankly the movie would have been amazing even without the 3D, but I highly recommend the 3D if you are going to see this in theaters.

Do not hesitate to go and see this movie as you will be treated to a true treasure. Avatar has been nominated this year for a Golden Globe award for best Motion Picture and I do believe it is very much deserving of this nomination. I have not seen all the movie in the category so I do not want to jump the gun and state that it will win, but I do believe that from what I have seen it should be no contest. Avatar is the best movie of 2009.

Home Alone 1 & 2 Movie Reviews

Home Alone

Director: Chris Columbus

Writer(s): John Hughes

Starring: Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern

I could not review all of these holiday movies and not include the first two installments of the Home Alone series. Starting with the one that took it all by storm. This movie is what turned young Macaulay Culkin (Saved!, Richie Rich, & The Good Son) into the star that he was. The movie was scripted by the late John Hughes (Pretty in Pink) and was something just a little bit different for movie goers everywhere in its time.

The movie also starring Joe Pesci (My Cousin Vinny, Goodfellas, & Lethal Weapon) and Daniel Stern (Whip It, City Slickers, Very Bad Things) took the world by storm when it hit theaters.

The movie itself has its share of plot holes and things that could very easily be questioned, and much is the same for many of the movies that John Hughes has scripted in his career, however I find that despite the plot holes I still find a lot of enjoyment in his movies. Home Alone was a movie that I watched countless amounts of times as a child and am not afraid to say that even at my age now would still watch.

With a guest cameo from Canadian born actor John Candy we were in for a treat indeed.

Home Alone provides many laughs and a story that at no time ever drags on for too long. This movie is definitely one that should not be missed for old fans of the movie and possibly younger audiences that have yet to be exposed to this holiday treasure. A memorable piece of movie history and fun for the entire family this holiday season. Make sure you and your family egt the chance to fall in love with Home Alone all over again.

My Rating:85%

Home Alone 2: Lost In New York

Director: Chris Columbus

Writer(s): John Hughes

Starring: Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern

Here we go again. The McAllister family are going to forget about Kevin one more time, this time though he is going to be lost in New York City. The premise of the movie at a gander seems kind of boring and likely was not about to break any new grounds at all, but as a whole the movie turned out much better then one would have originally expected.

I remember going to see this movie as a kid and was stunned by how they managed to work the scenario of once again being the horrible and neglectful family that forgets about their son.

Home Alone 2 plays out very much like the first one in terms of many of the events that end up occurring, but the laughs are still very much in tact, the fun is still very much non stop, and overall it is hard to dislike this follow up to the original movie.

It would be easy to peg this one down and forget all about it when it comes to the holidays, but I feel Home Alone 2 goes well hand in hand with the original movie and should be appreciated for what it managed to accomplish.

I have to say that this is not going to be my biggest recommendation of holiday movies, in fact I would have to say that I would urge you to watch the first one for sure and at least give this one consideration. I know that this movie still holds a place in my movie going heart and I will never forget the laughs it provided me.

Christmas With The Kranks Movie Review

Director: Joe Roth

Writer(s): John Grisham & Chris Columbus

Starring: Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dan Aykroyd

Is there anybody out there who believe that as movie fans we should expect a hell of a lot more quality from stars Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, Freaky Friday, & My Girl), and Dan Aykroyd (Ghostbusters, The Blues Brothers, & Trading Places). I know that we have come to expect movies like this from former television star Tim Allen (The Santa Clause) but as far as Curtis and Aykroyd go we should just not be receiving such a terrible movie.

The movie basis itself around a married couple who's only daughter is supposed to not be home for Christmas this year, as a result they decide to take a trip. This seems like a perfectly human scenario and something that should never really be the business of other people, however the over the top terribly acted community that these two live in finds themselves at war with the Krank's as they attempt to skip Christmas.

Now I know this might seem like I am spoiling this terrible movie for you but guess what? In the end they are surprised when the daughter says she is actually going to come home for Christmas....OH MY!!!! Who did not see that whopper of a twist coming? Oh better yet somehow the Krank's decide to try and hide their vacation from their daughter and make Christmas as it always ahs been in a matter of hours. Sorry to spoilt the plot for everyone but I am sure if you have watched the trailer then you have pretty much watched the entire movie as it is anyways.

Christmas With The Kranks should be put to rest for all of eternity and should never be watched during the holiday season.

My Rating: 8%

The Polar Express Movie Review

Director: Robert Zemeckis

Writer(s): Chris Van Allsburg & Robert Zemeckis

Starring: Tom Hanks, Leslie Zemeckis

Director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future Trilogy, & Who Framed Roger Rabbit) brings the beloved childrens story to the big screen. The 3D animated version of "The Polar Express" is done by a man who has a gift for this particular style of movie.

"The Polar Express" stars the voice of Tom Hanks (Angels & Demons, Saving Private Ryan, & The Green Mile) as multiple characters in this movie, and as always Tom hanks does an amazing job.

The movie is dazzling in its own way with how incredible it is on a visual sense. The story is unique and was always a favorite of mine growing up as a child. Witnessing "The Polar Express" on the big screen was quite a marvel.

I can not say the movie is absolutely perfect, and by no means is this ever going to be the first pick come holiday season for most people, but I hope that you do not overlook this movie as a choice to be had come holiday season movie time. It is defiantly a movie that the entire family can love and the story line is timeless.

Robert Zemeckis is an exceptional movie director and should be appreciated for his ability to take chances that go over and above the standard in the Hollywood movie scene. Zemeckis might not always create the perfect movie, but more often then not he delivers some amazing movies and ones that will forever be remembered.

It is time to sit down with the kids, with your loved ones, or even at school before the holiday time off kicks in and enjoy the marvels of "The Polar Express".

Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare Movie Review

Director: John Fasano

Writer(s): Jon Mikl Thor

Starring: Jon Mikl Thor

What should be considered one of the worst movies in the history of our world lands the honor of being one of the best movies in the history of our world. Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare is special in its own right for how incredibly terrible it is and yet how incredibly awesome it is at the very same time.

The movie starring Canadian Heavy Metal artist Jon MIkl Thor (Intercessor, Murder at the Presidio) is one of the greatest times you and your friends can have while watching a movie. In fact if cheesy B movies are something you have ever had a fondness for then "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" is the greatest movie you have probably never yet seen.

I know this will not be the movie for everybody out there, but it damn well should be. It has become a tradition for my friends and I to induct select people into the "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" club. In this club we watch and appreciate the movie while getting completely wasted. The fun that you and your friends will have from start to finish is unexplainable.

I want the world to now know this hidden treasure exists so that many generation can go on to enjoy this amazing movie. The effects are cheesy, the acting is terrible, the nude scenes are disturbing, the script is awful, but the laughs are forever continuous as a result. You will likely spend most of your time contemplating whether or not they truly were making a bad movie on purpose or if they were just flat out bad at making movies from the start.

The video i have posted along with this review is a scene from the movie, and is only one of many classic scenes that are just awe inspiring. Jon Mikl Thor will forever be a god in my own personal opinion for making such a fantastic movie masterpiece. Anybody who thinks they know B movies does not truly know them until they have witnessed "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare". I plead with you to find a copy of this movie, buy a copy of this movie, and spread the word of this movie to everyone you know. I truly want "Rock 'N' Roll Nightmare" fever to sweep the entire planet.

It is time now for you all to tune your weapons, plug in a copy of this movie, sit back, and live to ROCK!!!!
